About Me
There are ways to improve the standard of well being through even the smallest of experiences. Moment to moment we have the opportunity to impact someone's life in a positive way. Many times, we don’t fully comprehend our power of choice and this can lead to not living life to the fullest. We may forget that the world we want can eventually be created through remembering who we are, following our joy and sharing with others.
Personally, I want to see more happiness in the world. I want to see all people have their primary needs met, the needs of safety, food, water and shelter. I want to see systems that work to create a higher standard of living for all people and until this happens I personally will never consider myself successful.
I get that my vision is large and therefore, it requires more people who share it. I believe that at our core, we all share the same vision. To live in a world where all unnecessary pain and suffering are diminished. Where people make healthy choices that come from connection and awareness rather than disconnection and unawareness thus leading to a more beautiful human experience.
I also do believe most people are inherently good. It is only misguidance, disconnection and trauma that stain a persons character.
Exposure to healthy community experiences packed with authentic communication, creativity, peer support, deep personal connection helps to remind a person of who they are and who they can be.
In my work I help create these positive experiences for adults, to help them lesson the impact of their own personal suffering, transform it into something beautiful and make choices based on who they are, rather than who life told them to be.
My name is Akasha, I am a mom, a teacher, a performance artist, musician and the creator of The InnerFit Method Experience™, an inner work out based on mindfulness and core creativity.
In my work I help people create:
Connection to: self, others, world, higher purpose
Awareness of: self, others, world, impact
Responsibility to: self, others, world
Clarity: who we choose to be
My mission is to help the community of The World raise the standard of well being one person, one class and one experience at a time.
The way that I currently do this is through inner work and creative development.
Inner Work with parents, women, artists, seekers & healers:
I have been sharing the healing arts with fellow seekers since childhood, when I realized I had the gift of observation & objectivity. Navigating hardships in my youth created a resilience and dedication only experience can birth.
I was meditating by age eight and by age fifteen I was practicing Yoga, Reiki and delving into both spiritual and psychological studies. As the granddaughter of a psychiatrist, the passion for mental wellbeing always intrigued me. And as an at-risk teenager I had seen my fair share of what mental & emotional imbalance looks like and those experiences shook me to my core. By age nineteen, I was on a rigorous self help path that set the foundation of who I am today.
After years of Yoga practice I finally found true, everlasting peace through Higher Power-infused Insight Meditation and became a certified Yoga Instructor twelve years ago.
Inner Work Education & Training:
Insight Meditation: Beginning in 2009, I attended four 10 day silent meditation trainings. I have spent thousands of hours in silence and stillness practicing Higher Power Infused Vipassana Insight Meditation.
YogaLife Institute: In 2011, I attended a 230 hr, comprehensive one year teacher training that covered anatomy, teacher training, personal practice and in depth study of yoga philosophy. Training was given by Dr. Bob Butera.
Sivananda Yoga Ashram: In 2012, I spent 3 full months day and night in Sivananda Bahamas Ashram practicing Kriya, Karma, Hatha and Bhakti Yoga.
Reiki Master Attunement: Although I was practicing the healing arts at as a child I felt it necessary to expand my knowledge of energy arts. I received 4 Reiki Attunements and became a Reiki Master in 2014.
Coaching & Leadership Training: In the past seven years I have received thousands of hours of coaching, inner work and leadership trainings that have strengthened communication, commitment and integrity.
Over the past 20 years I have been sharing the art of yoga, meditation, energy arts, vocal activation, intuitive development and philosophy with hundreds of people. In 2016 I compiled all of my personal, spiritual and observational studies into a method of inner work called The InnerFit Method Experience™ (previously known as The EmoFit Method™) and I have been sharing this unique method in class form, groups, programs, women circles and 1:1 sessions at local schools, community centers, yoga studios and online.
In 2020, I wrote my first book which is set to be published late 2022.
My work with kids:
I realized in my work with adults that most if not all pain points were created in childhood and were perpetuated by living in a community that was void of awareness, connection, effective communication, clarity and responsibility.
That’s when I knew that I needed to create more positive experiences for communities and all their members; parents, grandparents, young adults, teachers, administrators, child care workers and of course children.
In 2018 I received my 40 hr child care training transcript from DCF and have over 1120 hours working with children from early childhood to twelve years of age.
One of the biggest issues facing youth stems from lack of confidence, purpose and negative self talk. As we know the self esteem of a child is imperative to their growth.
I have created 5 different programs for children (ages 5-18) that focus on supporting the child in generating confidence, creativity, peace, purpose and belonging.
